New machines delivered in Shortridge Laundries, Workington, Cumbria

Having identified the towel-folding department as a productive bottleneck, one of the north-west’s leading linen rental specialists has recently gone ahead with the installation of two FOLTEX AT230, auto-grading towel folders.
Shortridge Laundries, a thriving, independent business supplying the Lake District, the north of England and the Scottish borders, had previously taken delivery of two original FOLTEX AT230’s at its sister site in Dumfries around three years ago and had been suitably satisfied with the output, quality and reliability of the marque. A third machine supplied at the time, has been re-deployed to the firm’s specialist workwear operation where it’s used for folding warehouse coats, trousers and other industrial garments.
The two new machines have been installed at their Workington facility where they’re used for processing high-volumes of terry-towelling and kitchen-cloths.
Shortridge Laundries’ managing-director, Peter Semple, commented, “We’ve been greatly impressed by the value these machines gave us in our other plants, both in terms of production and reliability, so choosing Foltex for this new project was a simple decision for us to take.”
